At SCMS, we believe chamber music is for everyone. Through our Community Programs, we bring world-class musicians beyond the concert hall and into neighborhoods, parks, schools, and community spaces across the region. From The Concert Truck and free Chamber Music in the Park performances, to welcoming Azure Concerts and community Sight–Reading Parties, we’re dedicated to creating meaningful musical experiences that are fun, accessible, and open to all.
Seattle Chamber Music Society is proud to announce the acclaimed Balourdet Quartet as its first-ever string quartet in residence, from September 2025 to May 2026. The Balourdet Quartet will live and work in King County during its nine-month residency and present special community events, educational initiatives, and formal concerts.
The Concert Truck returns to Seattle in Summer 2026! This concert hall on wheels brings live chamber music directly to neighborhoods, parks, and markets across the region—free and open to the public. SCMS musicians join The Concert Truck founder, Susan Zhang, to perform engaging, hour-long programs that transform everyday spaces into vibrant concert experiences. Perfect for families, first-time listeners, and music lovers alike, The Concert Truck makes world-class music fun, accessible, and unforgettable.
SCMS is excited to host sight reading parties at the Center for Chamber Music. Bring your instrument along to enjoy an evening of sight reading. Come play through duos, trios, quartets and more with fellow music lovers alongside the greatest chamber musicians in the world.
Chamber Music in the Park offers free outdoor concerts featuring world-class musicians from our Summer Festival. Set against a stunning backdrop, these casual performances are open to all ages and bring high-quality music to the community. Enjoy the perfect blend of beautiful music and scenic summer surroundings at one of Seattle’s best free concert events.
Azure Family Concerts are free, fun, and engaging performances tailored to children and young adults who are on the autism spectrum or have similar challenges. As many with autism cannot attend traditional music performances due to stimming, vocalizations, or physical movements, Azure Family Concerts offer a welcoming space for families to gather and enjoy music together.
We are on a mission to bring the highest quality musical experiences to all corners of our community.
